Any dream that contains a wise old woman giving you advice relevant to your current problems is one worth putting to memory.

A newborn bunny without ears in Namie City, Japan, just outside the 18-mile exclusion zone around the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. The rabbit was found in May by 56-year-old Yuko Sugimoto. It has become a symbol of people’s fears of radiation after the Fukushima plant was damaged by the earthquake and tsunami in March, even though scientists say there’s no evidence the bunny’s defect was caused by radioactivity. Sometimes it is just too tempting to enter into a fantasy world. I am thus going to enter into the magical reality and go on a fantasy movie binge. Starting with the epic 7 hour mini-series The Tenth Kingdom, I will then go on to watch the Labyrinth and perhaps even take it a step further with some Disney.

I know that in the end we can only really come to understand ourselves through our own efforts. We can’t rely on others to just clear the way for us and do all the thinking. The answers are already within ourselves.

That being said, I still really want to find a guru. I think it would be pretty cool to have some wise yoda-like figure sprinkle you with their wisdom and compassionate guidance all the time. Ask you crazy riddles in the form of haiku.

How awesome would that be?
